Absolutely! This is how I discovered that I adore Julia Quinn and Lisa Kleypas. Last Summer I read The Duke and I by Julia Quinn and fell in love with her writing style. It turned out that the book was the second in an eight book series. Of course, I then started with book one and rapidly read by way through Quinn's Bridgerton series.
Sadly though, I'm not always enthralled by other books that I find by authors. More times than not I do like an authors other works, though.

I look for other books by an author when I really enjoy the first book. I usually do end up liking most of the author's work. Sometimes I'm disappointed, but even then, it's more that my expectations were too high than that the book is actually bad.
ReplyDeleteI usually find much success when searching for past books by an author. I might not look if I like a particular series though. I might just stick with that series and move on.
