Teaser Tuesday's - When You Dare by Lori Foster

Teaser Tuesday's is hosted by MizB at Should Be Reading. To play along, just do the following:

- Grab your current read

- Open to a random page

- Share two “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page

- BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)

- Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR list if they like your teaser.

My teaser this week is from Nook page 204 of When You Dare by Lori Foster:

"Why I'm here is none of your damn business," Dare told him.  "Just know that I will find the one responsible, so if you know anything, anything at all, you'd be smart to say so right now."

Musing Monday's - January 28, 2013

Musing Monday's asks you to muse about one of the following each week…
• Describe one of your reading habits.
• Tell us what book(s) you recently bought for yourself or someone else, and why you chose that/those book(s).
• Tell us what you’re reading right now — what you think of it, so far; why you chose it; what you are (or, aren’t) enjoying it.

Right now I am reading an autobiography called In the Pleasure Groove: Love, Death and Duran Duran by John Taylor.  He is the bass guitar player for Duran Duran.  I am reading this book because not only are they my favorite band, I am quite interested in knowing more about the so-called behind the scenes of the band.  I am happy to say that I have actually learned a lot that I didn't know.

I am also learning a lot about John Taylor as a person.  His life has been charmed, of course, but there has been a lot of struggle, as well.  I am almost done with the book and I am so glad that I have had the opportunity to read it.  My husband got the book for me for Christmas and I am so thankful for that.  This is definitely a book I want to keep and read again.

My teaser this week is from page 29 of John Taylor's In the Pleasure Groove: Love, Death and Duran Duran:

Painting all those uniforms in intricate detail on three-inch figurines left its mark on m aesthetic sensibility - the epaulets, the braids, the sashes and the boots.  You can still see an Airfix influence onstage with Duran Duran today.  I just can't seem to shake it off.

Book Review - All He Ever Needed

All He Ever Needed by Shannon Stacey sounded like such a good book to me when I read the blurb.  Technically, the writing in this book is good but it is a bit more redundant than I like. How many times do we need to be told the last name of the main male protagonist? And how many times must we be told that he is a reformed bad boy? This got tiresome fast. Also, since it is supposed to be a romance, I would think the couple in question should have kissed before the book was half done.

I'll give the author another chance, but I'll see if I can check the book out from the library. This book had such promise but really fizzled for me.

My teaser this week is from Nook page 71 of Shannon Stacey's All He Ever Needed:
Dragged around from place to place growing up, Paige had always been the new kid in school.  There had always been a new man of the house, some who became stepfathers and more who didn't.

Happy New Year everyone! I hope 2013 is wonderful for all!
