This is the 48th book in the In Death series by Robb! I am over halfway through the book and it is great so far!

The In Death series by J.D. Robb is one of my favorites! I am currently reading Leverage in Death which is the 47th book in the series. So far it is fantastic! I HIGHLY recommend this series if you like police procedurals, mysteries or thrillers. Of course this series has romance too in the form of Eve and Roarke's marriage (my favorite!) and others which I don;t want to spoil for anyone who may be early-on or thinking about reading the series!

I'm reading Dark in Death by J.D. Robb. It is the 46th installment of her popular In Death series. I'm only a few chapters into it but it is SO GOOD! I can't wait to get back to at bedtime.

 The In Death series of books by J.D. Robb is my favorite series. Her latest is out (technically tomorrow) and this is the book I am going to read next. I LOVE this series and feel emotionally invested in the characters Robb has created. This is the 46th book in the series and to me it still feels fresh and dynamic and as if there is still a lot of story t tell. I can't wait to dive into the world of this book.

This weeks random question: Do you like or dislike series?

Generally speaking I do like series of books. I enjoy "seeing" characters throughout the series and watching them as they grow. My favorite is the In Death series by J.D. Robb. Right now I am reading the fourth book in the Heartbreaker Bay series by Jill Shalvis. Another favorite is Fools Gold by Susan Mallery. She brought that series to an end and has a new one called Happily Inc. I haven't read any of those yet but will be starting it within the week.

YES! I would LOVE to see the In Death series by J.D. Robb made into a series of movies. A television show could work too if it was done right. Speaking of this series, which happens to be my favorite - I am reading and loving the latest book Secrets in Death.

Last week the new J.D. Robb book came out. It's called Secrets in Death and I will be reading it later this week. The In Death books are one of my favorite series so I am really looking forward to reading this book. 

Audio books

I recently began listening to audio books. I've listened to one by Susan Mallery and The Magnolia Story by Chip and Susanna Gaines. They were wonderful to listen to and I got to listen to books while also doing other things like crocheting, doing dishes and organizing my desk.

Strangely, it didn't occur to me to try listening to anything by Nora Roberts or J.D. Robb. I was reading another opinion on audio books the other day and the writer said that she LOVES the In Death series on audio and especially the way the audio reader does Roarke's voice. THAT is what had me finally running to the library today to get the fist book Naked in Death. I can't wait to hear how the story is read and how Eve, Roarke and the other characters are brought to life!

Apprentice in Death

I am currently reading the 43rd book in J.D Robb's gripping In Death series - Apprentice in Death. It amazes me how book after book this series stays strong and fascinating! The case in each book is a standalone but the characters grow from one book to the next to the next and so forth. 

The beginning of this book is chilling. It would be at any time, I believe, but with our world the way it is my heart has pounded extra hard more than once while reading this book. If you've never read this series, but wondered about it, I highly recommend it.

THIS WEEK’S RANDOM QUESTION: Which book do you wish you'd written yourself?

I'm a huge fan of J.D. Robb's In Death series. Next Tuesday, September 6th, the latest installment in the series Apprentice in Death will be released. I cannot wait to get my hands on that book! It's the 43rd book in the series which is amazing to me.

As for the random question about which book do I wish I'd written - there are a few. However, the first one that came to mind was The Help by Kathryn Stockett. I read this book a few years ago and I still think about it. It haunted me and made me think hard about the era it was set in and all that the people of the time went through. I haven't watched the movie but will definitely read the book again at some point.

Tomorrow, February 2, 2016, the new JD. Robb book comes out. It is called Brotherhood in Death and it is the 42nd book in her ever-popular In Death series. I can not wait to get it! I can not wait to read it! Besides the fact that I love this series, the mystery/murder/suspense this time relates to one of my favorite minor characters in the series. I am looking forward to learning more about this beloved character and seeing how Eve and Roarke deal with having someone they both care so deeply for tangled up in such a mess.

Book Review - Celebrity in Death by J.D. Robb

To those who know me - in real-life and through book blogging - I'm sure it comes as no surprise that I've read Celebrity in Death, the latest in J.D. Robb's near future homicide detective procedurals.  I have to say that the book did not disappoint at all.  Every thing I love about this series was present; the ever-evolving relationships amongst the characters, a great murder mystery and of course, the love between Eve and Roarke. 

In this 34th installment of the series - there is a movie being made about an earlier case that Eve, Peabody and the rest of the cast worked tirelessly to solve.  Now, the Icove case is being made in to a major Hollywood movie - much to Eve's dismay.  Fortunately, she is generally all right with the way the movie is coming together although it does creep her out a bit.  And the majority of the cast are decent people.  Of course, there is the bad apple, K.T. Harris, the actress playing Peabody.

Harris turns up dead in the pool at a party given by the movie big wigs.  A party Eve, Roarke, Peabody, McNab and Dr. Mira were all attending off duty.  Of course, being off-duty does not prevent the case from becoming theirs.  And while they turn up a lot of bad stuff about Harris - she is still their victim.  They do not stop until they solve her murder.

The book is written with Robb's trademark humor and insght into the human condition.  This is a stellar installment into a strong series.  One that I recently learned Robb plans to continue for the long haul.  Personally, I am very happy to know this as I completely adore the characters within this series.
