Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving to all who will be celebrating today! I am ever so thankful for the gift of my family - immediate and extended - and true friends. Life can be hard sometimes and it is the love and understanding and compassion of support of said family and friends that sees me through. I am most thankful for my husband and our children who bring me joy, love and happiness every single day - even when times are tough. What are you grateful for?

Just Breathe

Happy Easter

I let this egg sit in the dye for a long time yesterday. It's the one I posted a picture of yesterday that was so bright green. Overnight it changed to show all this blue, as well. I'm amazed at how it now looks like Planet Earth. I love it!

London

London, and all of England to be honest, is at the top of my travel-to list. It is at the top of my kids' travel wish list, as well. I am going to take steps to make a trip to London, England happen sooner rather than later. 

A date in Huntington Beach

My husband and I had a date in Huntington Beach today. We had amazing BBQ and went for a walk to the end of the pier. The bright sun in these pictures is deceiving because it was COLD and windy! We had such a great time, though.

Band Aid - Do They Know It's Christmas

One of my favorites! We heard it last night on the way home from celebrating Thanksgiving with family! My husband and kids know I love this song and actually they do, too. However, my kids started asking questions about the meaning and we explained to them the charitable reasons behind the song. We explained what the conditions were like in Africa in 1984 and the suffering that was (and still is in some ways) happening there. It made us all sad to think of the suffering but it also helped to know the there are good people - regular, everyday people and celebrities - who care and want to make a positive difference in this world. So a great song, turned into a history lesson and a great conversation as a family. It's something to definitely be thankful for.

Crochet

I love this quote because it is so true! I'm in the process of crocheting blankets for my kids. They are designs and colors that they chose for themselves so I know they'll like them. Now, if I could just finish them in time for Christmas. Actually, I do think I'll be able to do it, though.

Passion

I think this is true for any artistic endeavor but since my kids are passionate about tap dancing this works. :)

Family

My kids and I had the pleasure of spending the day with extended family. We get to do so again next weekend and we are so happy about it! I think family is so important and it's nice to share time together. 

Pink and sparkly

My daughter and my cousin are all about things that are pink and sparkly. This sign makes me smile (and made my daughter squeal) because it makes me think of them. Plus, it's pretty and happy. Something that I think we need a lot more of in this world - in whichever way it comes. Pink and sparkly is definitely good, though!
