Teaser Tuesday: This Year It will be Different by Maeve Binchy

Teaser Tuesday is newly hosted by Ambrosia at The Purple Booker. To play along, just do the following:

- Grab your current read

- Open to a random page

- Share two “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page

- BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)

- Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR list if they like your teaser.

My teaser this week is from This Year It Will be Different by Maeve Binchy:

This year there was only Rebecca for Santa Claus. Rebecca was four, John and James and Orla were far too old. But you couldn't be too old for trees and lights and candles and a holly wreath for the the door.

30 Days of readathon - Genre

No automatic alt text available.

Today's prompt for 30 days of readathon is genre. Romance is far and away my favorite genre to read. It's the same genre I write so I guess it makes sense that it's also my favorite to read. I can and have read almost all of the sub-genres but I like Contemporary and Historical Romance the best. Well, I suppose I'd have to add Romantic Suspense to that list of favorite sub-genres because a good romance mixed with a good mystery is also wonderful. I thank my mom for getting me into romance even though her original favorites aren't mine. I say original because now we do share a lot of the same favorite authors and books but the ones she read when was young aren't ones I enjoy. That's okay though because she still introduced me to the world of strong heroes and heroines, love and happily ever after.

Booking Through Thursday: Books From Other Countries

Booking Through Thursday is a weekly meme about (mostly) books and reading. This weeks question:
Name a book (or books) from a country other than your own that you love. Or aren’t there any?
This is an easy queation.  There are many authors/books that I like from other countries.  I adore Maeve Binchy's books and she's from Ireland.  The first book I can remember reading by her is Tara Road.  Since then I have read almost all of her books.  She makes me feel like I'm in Ireland among the families and fvriends that her stories always revolve around.

I also love the Millenium series by the late Swedish authorStieg Larsson.  I feel like I've posted so much about his series this year that I'll just leave it at the fact that I do adore the books.
