Slight Frustration With My Library
I had books that were due back to the library yesterday. I usually like to get my books back early but just didn't have the time to make that happen this go around. However, I did return them on time. When I went to the library yesterday afternoon, much to my surprise, it was closed! I don't like returning my books to the outside dropbox but had no choice. Sure enough, today I got an e-mail telling me the books were now overdue! UGH!! I'm really hoping this is just a computer glitch that will be taken care of come Tuesday. If not, I am going to pitch a fit because I always, always, always return my books!

Unexpected Visitors
I know and Julia knows that I honestly fulfilled this post on this date for the blogging challenge. However, now that I've calmed down considerably - I'm erasing what I'd originally written. I was annoyed and frustrated. And while I still stand by what I origiinally wrote - I don't want the post here anymore.

Obsessing
I admit it - I tend to obsess about things. For example - Blogger has a new template design. For the past two nights I have been playing with this darn design on my family blog trying to get it to look just the way I want it to. It's driving me crazy because each template I think I'm going to like ends up looking just a little bit strange to me. I'm starting to annoy myself. Does it really matter all that much if it isn't perfect? Why, why am I obsessing about the way the blog looks? I'm not a vain person and I'm trying to teach my kids that self worth comes from inside. So again, WHY am I being ridiculous about the way the blog LOOKS? I have no decent answer for this and have to say that I did finally sigh and click off of the other page. However, I'm pretty sure I'm going to end up designing something for it on my own because I just don't quite like it well enough the way it is right now. Like I said - I'm obsessing.rant

Much Better
What a difference a day makes. Cliche? Absolutely but so true! Nothing substantial has changed (unless you count my mood LOL) but some very important things have been realized. And, quite importantly (at least to me) an action plan is in place. Yes, I am definitely the kind of person who needs to see motion. Just hearing words doesn't make me feel better. This is true even for myself. I'm a planner and a doer (is that a word?). I can not sit around and just take what the world dishes out. I have to have some say in the matter. Okay, stepping off my soapbox. I just wanted to say that I feel a lot better.

No Nook For Me
I've been trying to decide whether or not I want the new e-reader put out by Barnes and Noble - Nook. I kept reading about it online and admit that I was lusting after it. Until yesterday, that is. My husband and I went to B&N to check out the Nook in person. And to say that we were not impressed is an understatement. I can't believe they are charging $249 for that thing! The more I think about it - the more annoyed I get by the whole thing! I just can not wrap my mind around spending so much money on a gadget that doesn't really have all that much to offer. If I'm spending a lot of money on something - I want it to be amazing right off the bat. $249 is simply for the e-reader and a few free books that are already on there. I'd rather have $249 worth of REAL books than that thing. Also, I find it enormously annoying that B&N isn't allowing its members (who already pay an annual fee for that membership) to use their discount when buying the Nook, any accessories for it or even the e-books themselves! How ridiculous is that? Quite frankly, I find it insulting, as well. I've had my membership for years and use it regularly. Why the hell aren't they allowing it to be used on the Nook?
I like my actual, real paper books. I like the way they feel in my hands, the way they smell, the experience of reading them. I like looking at the ones sitting prettily on my shelves. I like knowing I can pick one off the bookcase and read it again at any time. Yes, I know I can read books again on an e-reader but it's not the same for me. I was holding the Nook yesterday and it felt so awkward and cold in my hands. I didn't like it at all. I'll take my real books any day. So I won't be saving the world in this regard - and I'm all right with my choice. I'll continue to recycle, do the laundry in cold water and read my real paper books. In my opinion (and my husband's - a self proclaimed gadget freak) the Nook falls way short of a pleasurable reading experience.

Rain, Rain, Go Away
As I told my BFF - I know I sound like a whiny baby, but I am so sick of the freezing cold rain! I want it to be done and go back to being sunny in Southern California! Seriously, I'm over it! It's awful to drive in and soaks through all of us and freezes us. Plus, my kids haven't been able to play outside and they are going nuts! Which, in turn, is driving me nuts! Okay, enough whining, back to reality. :)

I'm Over Feeling Blah!
I am so sick of feeling uninspired and basically blah! Granted, I am feeling a little better today than I have for a while, but still. This is so unlike me and it is beyond frustrating! I WANT to write but by the time I have time at night - I am so tired I can't concentrate. It sucks and seriously needs to pass! Maybe I just need to force myself to write something and see what I get out of it. Hmmm - that's an idea worth considering. Of course, now that I'm complaining about it - all will be well. LOL!

Importing LJ blog - BLAH!
Well, I've slept and still I can't seem to import my LJ blog. I've even used the help option and all I've learned is that a lot of people have had this same problem. Lovely. So, I'm just going to copy and paste the posts I feel are relevant from the past couple of weeks. Oh well, I guess it's not that big of a deal.
