Musing Mondays: Reading Hangover

Musing Mondays is hosted by MizB at Should Be Reading .  This week's musing is:

What’s the last thing you stayed up half the night reading because it was so good you couldn’t put it down?

I have stayed up late reading so many times in my lifetime.  I just did this recently while reading Lisa Kleypas' Tempt Me at Twilight.  Whenever I am super tired the next day (or two) after one of my reading benders - I swear I won't do it again.  Then I'll find myself in the midst of something really fantastic and I tell my self, just a few more pages or just one more chapter.  Or better yeat, I promise myself I'll go to bed by a certain time and miss my self imposed cerfew by an hour or more.  It's an addiction - this love of reading that I have.  I just don't want any help for it, though.  :)

Other books that I have stayed up way too late reading are: The Girl Who Played With Fire by Steig Larsson, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince by J.K. Rowling, Eternal on the Water by Joseph Monninger, A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L'Engle and pretty much any book by Nora Roberts.

Now, I really must go to sleep so I won't be suffering tomorrow.  After I read for just 'a little bit'.  LOL

  1. I stayed up late for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince as well, thanks to my fangirlness and J.K. Rowling's amazing writing skills. Here's my Musing Mondays answer.

  2. I remember waiting up for the last Harry Potter book to be released, and then just devouring it :) It was partly because I couldn't put the book down, and partly for bragging rights that you've already finished book... lol

Here's my Musing Mondays (Jan 31)!

  3. Maybe I am just getting too old to miss my sleep, but I would rather read all day and ignore the things I should be doing!

  5. I stayed up late to finish a story in Full Dark, No Stars by Stephen King. It trumped sleep about 100:1 :D

  6. I always tell myself I'll never stay up late again to read, but then the book is so good... The Girl books kept me up later than usual.
