Book Blogger Hop: January 14 - 17, 2011: Gnere

Book Blogger Hop The Book Blogger Hop is hosted by Jennifer at Crazy for Books. This week's question is:

"Why do you read the genre that you do? What draws you to it?"

I read more than one genre.  However, I will say that my favorite genre is romance.  What draws me to the types of romance novels I read are the characters and the happy ending.  I know there are all sorts of different sub genres of romance: suspense, historical, contemporary, paranormal, etc.  I tend to prefer the historical but have found books in all the categories that I like.  And others that I have disliked.  If a book has strong, believable characters then I am usually pleased.  And of course, I'm a sucker for a happy ending - which I am guaranteed with a romance novel.

What is your favorite genre, and why?

Have a great weekend!

  2. I don't have a favorite genre, but I also like romance. I see you recently read Ten Things I Love About You by Julia Quinn - I LOVED that one! I won it on Goodreads.com a while back, it was really great.

    Happy Blog Hop!

  5. Old follower hopping by :) I've always loved happy endings because, sadly, life is often lacking them. Romances can work without a happy ending, such as Romeo & Juliet and Annie Hall (sounds funny to print those two side-by-side), but my fave happy endings are ones where two very unlikely people end up together. Reading or watching how they accomplish this is the best part! Here's my post.

  7. Here I am hopping on by...

I went all over the map with this question on my blog. I read and enjoy almost every genre of fiction out there. There’s no way I could just pick one.

So I talked about all of them. Even romance fiction (sort of)! I invite you to hop over to my blog at http://www.howardsherman.net and see for yourself.

  8. Visiting on the blog hop tour and now I'm following you! Romance is the genre that started me reading again about 15 years ago, but I'll try just about anything. It seems as though I'm trying to make up for the years I didn't read as much...hahaha.

Anyway, if you get the chance, come visit: http://bookendcrossing.blogspot.com/2011/01/book-blogger-hop-tour-1-14-to-1-17-2011.html

    Have a great weekend!
