On Folly Beach Teaser

Teaser Tuesday's is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

Grab your current read -
Open to a random page -
Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

Teaser from page 41:
"These were all my mother's books, which I brought from the house in Charleston when I sold it following my father's death three years ago. I didn't have room at the cottage but I didn't want to get rid of them, either."
I'm only about one quarter into On Folly Beach but I am really enjoying the book so far. The story is being told from two points of view - Maggie's in 1942 shortly after the United States entered World War 2 and Emmy's in 2009. It seems that a bookstore, books and some sort of mysery are going to make their stories intertwine.

  4. Glad you're enjoying this one -- I really liked it! White is quickly becoming a can't-go-wrong author for me.

  5. I haven't read this book, but I like the teaser. Reminded me of how some of us divided up my grandmother's books after she died. I have a few just because she wrote notes in the margins. :) My teaser's here

  6. I became a follower! Great teaser! I hope you will check out mine for Stephanie Meyer's latest novel The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner! Also, if you check back on my blog this Friday I have huge news about the novels I had been submitting to agents/publishers!
