This square is called Star Crossed by Helen Shrimpton. I am really enjoying making these squares (which will be turned into a rather large blanket) in cotton yarn.

New crochet project
I'm starting a new CAl - Crochet Along - with Coastal Crochet. This is called the Seaside Stash Busting Blanket. This is meant to be a slow CAl and will only consist of four rows per week until about September. However, at the moment I am a tad behind as the CAL began six weeks ago. So I am currently playing catch up. The above four rows are from week one of the CAL. The hot pink and dark gray are the colors I will use to complete week two. I'm loving this project already and excited to continue it over the next several months.

Healthy and delicious
This smoothie popped up on my Facebook memories today. It''s funny because my kids and I are having this as I type this. Well, I finished mine but they are still working on theirs. The smoothie is blueberries, bananas, dates, lemon juice and water. I also added Barley grass juice extract powder and Hawaiian Spirulina in order to detox the heavy metals from our bodies. Healthy AND delicious!

Dark in Death trailer
I'm reading Dark in Death by J.D. Robb. It is the 46th installment of her popular In Death series. I'm only a few chapters into it but it is SO GOOD! I can't wait to get back to at bedtime.

Coffee time
This popped up on my Facebook memories today and made me laugh. I remember seeing this outside of my local Starbucks and laughing then, too. Obviously I took a picture of the sign because I love it! Now I drink tea more than coffee but I do still enjoy and occasional cup of java. I still love this sign, too.

Pleasant surprise
I am currently reading River's End by Nora Roberts. It was originally published on March 1, 1999 but somehow I've never read it. It is the current Book of the Month on the Nora Roberts Groupies board on GoodReads. It is a great book so far! I started reading it late last night with the idea that I'd read 'just a few pages' then go to bed. LOL 52 pages later I forced myself to close the book and go to sleep. As of now I am a quarter of the way through the book. I don't know why I've never read this book but I am LOVING it now that I am! It is a wonderfully pleasant surprise! Here is the description, if you're interested:
Olivia's parents were among Hollywood's golden couples…until the night a monster came and took her mother away forever. A monster with the face of her father...
Sheltered from the truth, an older Olivia only dimly recalls her night of terror—but her recurring nightmares make her realize she must piece together the real story. Assisted by Noah Brady, the son of the police detective who found her cowering in her closet so many years before, she may have her chance. Noah wants to reconstruct the night that has become an infamous part of Hollywood history. He also wants to help Olivia and heal the longing in her lonely heart. But once the door to her past is opened, there's no telling what's waiting on the other side. For somewhere, not too far away, the monster walks again.

Sunset workout
Sunset at the top of the crazy stairs I climbed during this evening's workout. I love the sunset and feel that the glorious ones I get to witness after doing my evening workouts are a reward. Here's another picture I took this evening:
I love photograpy, sunset and nature in general.

The humble granny square
Sometimes I just want to make a humble but in my opinion awesome granny square. I'm especially happy with this one in all the greens and the ivory. I've already added it to the blanket I'm making too and it looks great! So happy about this color selection and the blanket itself. I'm making it in cotton and it's so soft and lovely.
